Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Pointly is a macOS screen annotation application developed by Lyubomir Stavrev ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the Pointly app and this website.

2. Data We Collect

Pointly collects no personal data whatsoever. Specifically:

• No account or registration is required to use Pointly.
• No drawings, screenshots, or screen content are ever transmitted to us or any third party.
• No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting data is collected.
• No cookies are used on this website, and nothing on it tracks you across sites (see section 5).
• We do not know who you are, where you are, or how you use the app.

3. Screen Recording Permission

Pointly requests macOS Screen Recording permission only for three tools that need to see what is under your annotations: Cut & Move (captures a selected region into a floating panel), Blur Brush (blurs the content under the brush) and Presenter Zoom (magnifies a frozen image of the screen). The captured content:

• Is processed entirely on your device.
• Is never saved to disk unless you explicitly export it.
• Is never transmitted over the network.
• Is discarded when you close the app or clear the canvas.

You can revoke this permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording.

4. In-App Purchases

Pointly Pro and Pointly Pro+ are purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system. All payment processing, billing information, and transaction data are handled exclusively by Apple Inc. We never see, receive, or store your payment details. Apple's privacy practices are described in the Apple Privacy Policy.

5. This Website

This website (trypointly.com) uses no cookies, no advertising, and no cross-site tracking. To see which pages are useful, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views, referring sites, browser, device type and country in aggregate. It stores nothing in your browser (no cookies or local storage), does not fingerprint visitors, and Cloudflare discards your IP address at its nearest data center rather than storing it. We cannot identify you from it. The site does not require any sign-up.

6. Children's Privacy

Pointly does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). Since we collect no data at all, there is nothing to collect from any age group.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, delete, or export on your behalf. If you are an EU resident (GDPR) or a California resident (CCPA) and have any questions, please contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Third-Party Services

The Pointly app does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-sharing services; the only third party involved in using it is Apple (for app distribution and payment processing). This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which also provides the aggregate visit counts described in section 5 (Cloudflare privacy policy).

9. Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this policy (for example, if we add a feature that involves data), we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of Pointly after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
